Serie A outfit Roma are in talks over a permanent move for Chelsea outcast Axel Disasi according to reports in Italy.

Disasi is part of the infamous “bomb” squad after he failed to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge in the  summer.

It was reported the Frenchman turned down several loan offers from clubs on deadline day, and he’s not played since the second half of last season during a loan spell at Aston Villa.

Roma in talks over a permanent move for Axel Disasi

Disasi has featured for the Chelsea development side in order to build his match fitness ahead of any potential January exit.

The 27-year-old was seen training with the first team during the November international break, but Maresca shut down any talk of a possible return.

A number of clubs have shown interest with the January window fast approaching, and Disasi is believed to have been offered to Barcelona.

However, Chelsea have no international loan spots left so any move abroad would need to be permanent, and journalist Daniele Longo has provided an update.

He took to X.com and said:

“Roma, negotiations with Chelsea to purchase Disasi on a permanent deal.

“Heavy competition: Lyon and Paris FC.

“The defender has also been offered to Milan and Barcelona.”

Chelsea still looking to move Raheem Sterling on

Whilst Disasi is attracting interest the same can’t be said of Raheem Sterling, who’s also part of the “bomb” squad.

Sterling hasn’t played since a disappointing loan spell at Arsenal last season, and his preference to remain in London has made any transfer difficult.

The Blues are desperate to get his reported wages of in excess of £300,000 per week off their books, but so far there haven’t been any rumours linking Sterling with a January exit, and Chelsea look like they have their work cut out trying to find a solution.
