Journalist Scott Burns has cooled reports that Celtic target Lennon Miller is nearing a move to Bologna. The young midfielder has a year remaining on his deal with Motherwell but is expected to leave this summer as the Fir Park side look to maximise their value.
Reports have suggested that Miller is nearing a £5m switch to Serie A side Bologna, which might yet transpire. However, the journalist has said that any notion a move is almost completed is news to Motherwell.
There may yet be time for Celtic to launch a bid for the Scotland Internationalist as they look to kickstart a late flourish in the window. Despite adding first team options Kieran Tierney and Benjamin Nygren, the club have been slow to add attackers with just Shin Yamada coming in from the J-League.
Despite Celtic being well covered in the midfield, Miller is an exciting talent who has an abundance of talent and potential. The sky is the limit for Miller but it appears that he wants to make the switch to Europe rather than remaining in Scotland at present. Celtic could certainly offer the player progression as well as European football.
Supporters will be eager for the club to speed up their transfer business with the new season on the horizon. Rumours from Como suggested that Michael Nicholson was confident of adding two wingers, a striker and a defender to the squad. It remains to be seen if Celtic can add to the squad but there is plenty of time to get bodies in.
