Should United also advance come the full-time whistle, Samuel Luckhurst thinks one Red simply has to be dropped from the XI – or else Amorim risks missing out on European glory in his first term in the dugout.

Indeed, Victor Lindelof has been chastised for early mistakes he’s made in the first half, having been restored to the side in recent weeks in the absence of sidelined counterpart Matthijs de Ligt.

That being said, Amorim did tell reporters on Wednesday that he hopes De Ligt will be available again before the culmination of the campaign, which would certainly come as a substantial boost if United are to play in the Europa League final, held at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, on May 21.
