Juan Pablo Vojvoda sacked by Racing after 13 games | OneFootball

Juan Pablo Vojvoda has been sacked by Racing, a day after their Argentine Championship quarter-final exit to Boca Juniors. According to Diario Do Peixe, the former Santos coach departs after only 13 matches in charge.

Vojvoda met Racing’s board on Monday and agreed to terminate his deal. Hired in June on a contract to June 2027, he has not completed his first half-season.

His record was four wins, two draws and seven defeats. The Boca loss intensified the pressure and proved decisive. Racing led 2-0 early in the second half before substitute Enner Valencia struck a hat-trick in just over 20 minutes to seal a 3-2 turnaround.

Before Racing, Vojvoda managed Santos from August 2025 to March 2026 after four years at Fortaleza, initially signing to the end of 2026. He oversaw 34 games, winning 10, drawing 14 and losing 10, a 42 percent return, and left after a 2-1 home defeat to Internacional in round seven of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

That departure came a little over five months into the job amid early-2026 pressure, with a 12-game run of three wins, four draws and five losses. Despite the slow start to that year, Santos rallied late in 2025 to finish clear of relegation and qualify for the Copa Sudamericana, also winning home derbies against Corinthians, São Paulo and Palmeiras.

Santos were left to pay R$ 9.041.400,39 in severance, a contracted sum paid in instalments. At Racing, Vojvoda reunited with forward Lautaro Díaz, whose signing he requested after working with him at Santos. He leaves after roughly four months and returns to the market.
