Jules Koundé spared injury after hamstring scare at Villarreal | OneFootball

Jules Koundé has escaped injury after coming off with right hamstring pain during Barcelona’s 2-0 win at Villarreal on Sunday. He should return quickly.

Sport reports that he asked to be substituted because of cramp after being unwell in the days leading up to the game. No medical examination was required.

He was taken off in the 78th minute.

The third most-capped French player in Barcelona’s history should be in contention for the derby against Espanyol on 3 January.

A mainstay under Hansi Flick, Koundé has missed only one of the club’s 25 matches this season.
