Julián Álvarez’s future is dictating Atlético de Madrid’s summer. According to La Colina De Nervion, no formal bids have arrived and only an exceptional offer would be considered.
He joined from Manchester City on a deal to 2030 to lead a new cycle. At 26, he is a flagship asset with major honours including the Champions League and World Cup.
In LaLiga 2025/26 he has eight goals and four assists in 29 matches and over 1,900 minutes. Beyond the numbers, he pins centre-backs, creates space and gives Diego Simeone more variety.
Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are monitoring him. For Barcelona it suits Hansi Flick’s search for a leading striker, PSG have the resources, and Arsenal still want a decisive centre-forward.
Atlético would only weigh offers above 100 million euros, not an official valuation but a likely threshold. A cash plus players package is possible only if the profiles fit Simeone.
Replacing Álvarez without losing level would be the hardest part. He can lead the line, play as a second striker and press from the front, a blend that is hard to find and slow to bed in.
Any exit would trigger a domino effect, demanding a starting centre-forward, possibly another attacker, and reinforcements in midfield, defence and the left flank. Simeone needs early clarity to keep the wider plan moving.
A quick resolution would set the tone, either cementing Álvarez as the cornerstone or initiating a major attacking rebuild.
