Julian Nagelsmann fears ligament damage for Nico Schlotterbeck after Germany’s 2-1 win over Côte d’Ivoire at the World Cup.
According to L'Équipe, the Borussia Dortmund defender was hurt and concern is high in the Germany camp.
Schlotterbeck suffered the injury early after a collision. He received treatment on the pitch in the 14th minute, then continued.
Visibly hampered, he was replaced at half-time by Antonio Rüdiger.
Post-match, Nagelsmann said Schlotterbeck had an inner ligament issue and would undergo an MRI on Sunday. He added it did not look very good.
If confirmed, such an injury would end his World Cup and keep him out for an extended spell. Already through to the round of 16, Germany face Ecuador in their final group game on Thursday at 22:00.
