Germany will name their World Cup squad later than planned after Julian Nagelsmann moved the announcement to May 21.

The German Football Association confirmed on Tuesday that the announcement, initially set for May 12, has been delayed.

Nagelsmann’s decision allows him to wait for the Bundesliga season to finish before finalising his selection.

The start of Germany’s training camp in Herzogenaurach has also shifted by two days, now beginning on May 27.

The change provides extra recovery time for national-team players involved in the DFB-Pokal final between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart on May 23.
