Julian Nagelsmann wants to remain Germany head coach despite their World Cup exit to Paraguay in the last 32 on penalties.
According to L'Équipe, the match finished 1-1 on Monday, Paraguay winning the shootout 4-3.
Nagelsmann, 38, took charge in 2023 and became the youngest national coach to lead a World Cup knockout tie in 40 years.
It was Germany's third successive premature World Cup, after group-stage eliminations in 2018 and 2022.
They had also fallen 2-1 to Spain after extra time in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals on home soil, intensifying scrutiny over the coach's future.
Nagelsmann said the decision no longer sits with him, but he is ready to continue if wanted. If he is not wanted, he expects to be told. He added that he does not walk away and, should the DFB keep him, he would prepare for the European Championship and the Nations League.
