Julián Alvarez’s entourage believe he ‘made a mistake’ joining Atlético Madrid | OneFootball

Something of a bombshell update on the situation surrounding Atlético Madrid star Julián Alvarez at present has come to the fore on Wednesday.

This comes amid claims that those closest to the Argentine international are of the opinion that he made the wrong call in penning terms at the Metropolitano.

Frontman Alvarez of course made the move to Atlético in the summer of 2024, after the Rojiblancos agreed to meet the hefty valuation laid out by Manchester City for their attacking star.

The 25-year-old went on to enjoy an impressive debut campaign in Rojiblancos colours, to the tune of 29 goals and eight assists across all competitions.

Atlético, however, endured a largely underwhelming season as a collective.

And with Diego Simeone’s troops fresh off an opening day La Liga defeat this past weekend, too, it would appear that cracks are beginning to appear behind the scenes in Alvarez’s representative group.

As per a report from journalist Matias Palacios, speaking during an appearance on El Chiringuito TV:
