Junior Firpo has offered public support to Mateo Joseph after the Leeds United forward confirmed his Mallorca exit at the end of his loan.

With the 2025-26 campaign over and Leeds safe in the Premier League, attention turns to the summer window. Daniel Farke’s contract situation needs addressing and Joseph is among those heading for the Elland Road exit.

The 22-year-old made 29 La Liga appearances for Mallorca, scoring two goals and supplying four assists. He remains contracted to Leeds until 2028, though his prospects in West Yorkshire appear limited after a fall-out with Farke last summer.

Joseph delivered in flashes, notably in April’s 2-1 win over Real Madrid when he set up Vedat Muriqi’s late winner. A subsequent ligament injury sidelined him, bringing a disappointing finish to his spell as Mallorca were relegated on goal difference.

In a farewell post on social media, Joseph said he felt part of the club and city, expressed regret at not finishing the season on the pitch, and thanked team-mates, staff and medics. He also named Pablo Ortells, Jagoba Arrasate and Martin Demichelis, and said he believes Mallorca will return.

Firpo replied with a message of support, while Wilfried Gnonto and Illan Meslier reacted by liking the post.
