Jurgen Klopp hints at comeback: ‘I’m not at the end yet’ as Real Madrid and Germany links grow | OneFootball

Jurgen Klopp has said he remains open to returning to management in the near future.

The formerLiverpool manager has not coached since leaving Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, with the German currently working as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull, a position he has held since January 2025.

Klopp continues to be linked with a return to dugout and has previously said he does not miss the day-to-day of football management.

He spent almost nine years at Liverpool, where he won seven trophies, including the 2019 Champions League and 2020Premier League title. Klopp also previously had seven-year stints at Borussia Dortmund and Mainz.

However, the 58-year-old has now said he does not feel 'completely at the end yet' of his managerial career. Though he admitted there is 'nothing planned', Klopp suggested he will manage again.

“I’m quite advanced in life at my age, but as a coach I’m not completely at the end yet," Klopp said at a Magenta event this week.

"I haven’t reached retirement age. Who knows what will happen in the next few years? But nothing is planned right now.”

According toSky Germany, there are two roles of particular interest to Klopp: Real Madrid and the German national team.

Real Madrid are currently under the management of Alvaro Arbeloa, who replaced Xabi Alonso in January, though the Spanish side did not announce a contract length for Arbeloa, as is customary. It has raised question marks over the 43-year-old's longer-term position.

Julian Nagelsmann will lead Germany at this summer's World Cup and extended his contract to run until the 2028 European Championship in January.

However, the 38-year-old has been linked with vacant roles at Premier League sides Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who have reportedly placed Nagelsmann on their managerial shortlists for the summer.
