In a huge development, Brazilian outlet GE Globo reports that Real Madrid and Olympique Lyon are closing in on an agreement for the January loan of teenage striker Endrick.

The Spanish capital giants have agreed to let the 19-year-old centre-forward join the Ligue 1 club on loan for the second half of the 2025/26 season.

Meetings held this week have advanced the loan deal, and documents are now being exchanged between the two clubs, with the agreement expected to be signed in December.

Endrick headed to France

Negotiations began in the second half of November, and from the outset, the 19-year-old viewed the move to France positively. Even recent interest from Manchester United, following the injury to Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko, did not change his mind.

Endrick’s priority is to gain regular playing time and greater prominence, with the goal of earning a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad.

Carlo Ancelotti himself has left the door open for Endrick’s return to the national team, while also acknowledging that the striker must resolve his lack of minutes at Real Madrid to be considered again for selection.

Both Real Madrid and Lyon are keeping the terms of the agreement under wraps. What is known is that the Spanish club have no intention of selling Endrick permanently, and the loan deal will not include a purchase option.

The agreement includes clauses that would allow Real Madrid to withhold or recall Endrick in the event of injuries to their attacking players while the window remains open.

Verbally, both sides consider the deal sealed, and Endrick’s representatives are already looking for accommodation in the French city.

Endrick has made only one appearance so far this season for Real Madrid under Xabi Alonso. A loan move to Lyon, where he can become a regular starter, will be a good move for the teenager.
