Just in: Real Madrid superstar Mbappe out for three weeks with injury | OneFootball

In a major development, L’Equipe reports that Real Madrid megastar Kylian Mbappe has suffered a knee injury and is set to be out for three weeks.

The French attacker has been suffering from an issue affecting the lateral ligament of one of his knees for several weeks, and the MRI carried out on Wednesday revealed a lesion that requires treatment and rest.

As such, he will be unavailable for at least the next three weeks.

After playing almost every match for his club since the start of the season, Real Madrid’s No. 10 will now have to accept a period of rest.

This comes as a major blow for Xabi Alonso & co., considering that Mbappe has been the team’s best player in what has been a largely inconsistent campaign thus far.

The French superstar has been responsible for more than half of Real Madrid’s goals in all competitions this season.

Having been in unstoppable form, Mbappe ended 2025 by equalling Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally for the most goals in a calendar year for Real Madrid (59).

With the Spanish Super Cup just around the corner, Real Madrid had been hoping that the 27-year-old attacker can carry on in the same vein of form.

But, with a recovery period of three weeks being specified, it is certain that the Frenchman will miss the trip to Dubai for the Super Cup, after their upcoming La Liga clash vs Real Betis, while his involvement for further games in the league and Copa del Rey will also be uncertain.
