Juventus and Fiorentina ‘closing in’ on Joao Mario agreement | OneFootball

Juventus and Fiorentina are pushing towards an agreement for Joao Mario, with a move that could become permanent by the end of the 2026-27 season.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that negotiations are progressing over the Portuguese full-back, who is not expected to be part of Luciano Spalletti’s plans for 2026-27.

Talks are said to have accelerated in recent days. The clubs have discussed a season-long loan with an option to buy for around €8m-€9m.

Joao Mario joined Juventus from Porto last summer in a €12.6m deal and has spent only one year on the books.

He made 10 Serie A appearances before leaving on loan to Bologna for the remainder of 2025-26, in an arrangement that also saw Emil Holm move the opposite way on a temporary basis.
