Arthur’s future at Grêmio is undecided, with his deal up at the end of the month and no clear route in talks with Juventus over keeping him. GZH reports that Juventus sought to include centre-back Viery in discussions.

Grêmio have no interest in involving the defender. Viery has been a standout this year and is valued at around 20 million euros, and a 12 million euros offer was recently turned down.

The club do not plan to add players into any agreement. For now they have made no proposal to Juventus and have not presented Arthur with new terms.

Grêmio want the player to secure a direct release from Juventus. They have heard figures between 6 and 7 million euros, and understand Arthur would also have a similar sum to receive, plus wages and a signing-on fee, hence the push for freedom from a contract running to June 2027.

After the final game before the pause, a defeat to Corinthians, Arthur said he had done everything possible and would continue to do so. He wants to stay, but said the outcome depends on Grêmio and Juventus, adding he still has much to do at the club.

The outlook in Italy is not to use him for institutional reasons unrelated to the player. Fluminense have made a recent enquiry and Como also showed interest months ago, while the 2017 Conmebol Libertadores winner returned for a second spell in August last year on loan from Juventus until June 2026.
