Juventus have confirmed that Douglas Luiz is set for another spell on the touchline after suffering an injury to his thigh in the second half of his side’s recent 1-0 victory over Cagliari in Serie A.

The former Aston Villa midfielder came on as a second-half substitute during the Cagliari match, but he was forced off just 20 minutes later after feeling a tweak.

The Brazilian has started just once for Juventus in Serie A in 2025, in the 1-1 Derby della Mole draw against Torino in January. He has played just 95 minutes of league football since then, spread across five substitute appearances.

Juventus have confirmed that Douglas Luiz reported for medical tests following the injury he picked up against Cagliari.

The results show that he has sustained an low-grade lesion to the femoral biceps of the thigh in his left leg.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Douglas Luiz is expected to miss a minimum of 15 days of training, which is likely to keep him out until after the next international break in March.

That means that he is expected to be unavailable for the Empoli match in the Coppa Italia quarter-final, as well as Serie A fixtures against Hellas Verona, Atalanta and Fiorentina.
