The last-gasp qualification to the Champions League will allow Juventus not to make substantial sacrifices on the transfer market for financial relief, and so they aren’t entertaining the offers for Kenan Yildiz, who would have plenty of suitors if available.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the parties will intensify the negotiations to extend his contract after the FIFA Club World Cup. He’s already tied to the Bianconeri until 2029, but his salary is relatively low, €1.5M. The team is plotting to tack on an extra year and raise his wages to €3/4M.
Yildiz voiced his love for Juventus in an interview, alluded to a long-term permanence, and said that he liked his role and freedom under Igor Tudor. He has notched 9 goals and 8 assists in 50 matches in the last campaign. He has scored thrice during the summer competition.
In the meantime, the Bianconeri are increasingly confident about signing Jonathan David. The striker has given them his priority and instructed his entourage to try reaching an agreement on the commissions and bonuses, which are the main sticking point of the negotiation.
Moreover, the Old Lady is trying to sign Francisco Conceiçao permanently for less than his €30M release clause. However, Porto are determined to pocket the full amount.
Agents, intermediaries, and teams always test the waters, but they shouldn’t have thought about cashing him on him even if they hadn’t made the top four. He’s really just scratching the surface of his potential, also from an economic standpoint. He seems to have clicked with Tudor, but, more importantly, he’s at ease in a more central position rather than on the wing, and in a more up-tempo style.
