Juventus ‘make enquiry’ for Darwin Nunez as Champions League place could decide move | OneFootball

Sky Sport reports that Juventus have made a preliminary enquiry to Al-Hilal over Darwin Nunez, and any pursuit is tied to their Champions League prospects.

The Italian club are assessing costs after reaching out to gauge availability. Nunez moved from Liverpool last summer in a €53 million deal, and his contract runs until June 2028.

The 26-year-old featured regularly early on, playing 16 league matches and scoring six goals, with 24 appearances, nine goals and five assists across all competitions. During the winter break, a technical decision by manager Simone Inzaghi left him off the list of eight foreign players, ruling him out of domestic action for the season.

He remains eligible in the AFC Champions League Elite, where he has six appearances, three goals and one assist. Al-Hilal face Al-Sadd in the round of 16 on 13 April, a stage that could be his final showcase before a European return.

Whether Juventus formalise their interest depends entirely on their league finish. They are fifth in Serie A on 57 points, one behind Como, with seven matches remaining.
