Newcastle have reportedly targeted Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi as a potential replacement for Juventus target Sandro Tonali this summer.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that France international Guendouzi is one of Newcastle’s targets for next summer, and their interest in the Lazio midfielder is intriguing for Juventus, as the Bianconeri have made Sandro Tonali their priority midfielder target for the 2025-26 season.

Several sources in Italy and across Europe had already mentioned Tonali as Juventus’ main target to strengthen their midfield next season.

The latest report from Caught Offside claimed that the Magpies have yet to decide on the future of Tonali. Although they would be happy to retain the Italian, an offer in the region of €80m may persuade them to sell him.

Tuttosport added that Juventus could include Douglas Luiz or Dusan Vlahovic in a player-plus-cash swap deal to lower Newcastle’s demands next summer.

Tonali has played a pivotal role at St. James’ Park this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
