Juventus are ready to accelerate the talks to sign Canadian striker Jonathan David this summer (h/t La Gazzetta dello Sport).
David is one of the sought-after free agents in the transfer market, with his contract with LOSC Lille expiring at the end of the month.
Napoli appeared to be the frontrunners for the Canadian international, however, the talks have stalled in recent weeks.
Juve’s general manager Damien Comolli has scheduled a meeting with David’s entourage. The 25-year-old has been identified as one of the potential replacements for Dusan Vlahovic.
Vlahovic is seemingly heading towards the exit, having declined the Old Lady’s renewal offer.
The Serbian’s deal expires next summer, and the Old Lady are keen to avoid him playing out his contract.
They are looking to fetch around €25-30 million for the former Fiorentina star, who has been linked to the Saudi Pro League, Chelsea and AC Milan.
Juve have turned their attention towards a cheaper alternative like David after failing to keep up in the transfer race for Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.
David has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in Europe after showing stellar consistency at Lille.
He has bagged 109 goals and 30 assists in 232 appearances for the French outfit, playing a pivotal role in the Ligue 1 triumph in 2020/21.
David has netted 34 goals in 65 caps for the Canadian national team.
Juve are looking to sign Randal Kolo Muani on a permanent transfer. The Frenchman’s loan stint from Paris Saint-Germain will expire after the Club World Cup.
The Italian giants are also plotting a summer move for Manchester United’s out-of-favour forward Jadon Sancho.
