Luciano Spalletti stuck with the same scheme after taking over Juventus, as he had very little time to work on the tactics given the dense schedule. There could be some changes once Serie A resumes, Tuttomercatoweb informs.
The first order of business will be to reignite the attack. The Bianconeri have failed to hit the net in 4 out of 11 Serie A rounds. They are tied for fifth place for goals scored league-wide. None of their strikers has really gotten going at this stage.
Spalletti will weigh whether he can turn to his preferred scheme, 4-3-3, during the break, as the Juventus squad is thin in multiple roles. They should recover a couple of pieces, Lloyd Kelly and Juan Cabal, while Gleison Bremer will likely need more time to return from his meniscus tear.
Teun Koopmeiners held his own as a center-back but will soon be needed more in the midfield, where there aren’t real alternatives to the starters, if everything goes to plan with the returns from injury.
They didn’t win in the last two matches, but at least they had a somewhat coherent plan and dominated the possession, which protected their defense better than in previous tilts. It’s not easy to switch schemes while the transfer market is closed. They surely have a lot more defenders than midfielders and forwards. They might have to wait until January, as the roster is built for 3-4-2-1. The coach has employed various formations throughout his career. Concepts, organization, determination, and attitude matter more than how the men are ultimately lined up. Feeding the no. 9 properly continues to be their main problem, and they must solve that first and foremost.
