According to La Colina De Nervion, Juventus have not given up on Nico González and, unless Atlético de Madrid tie him down by 30 June, he would return to Turin. Luciano Spalletti has him in next season’s plans if he does not stay in Madrid.

González joined Atlético on loan from Juventus until 30 June 2026, with an option to buy. That clause could become an obligation if conditions were met, fixing the fee at 32 million euros.

The buy has not been completed, so Juventus can still take him back. If Turin choose to keep him, a discount would be harder to secure.

Nico was not Atlético’s attacking reference, yet his output mattered. He played 24 LaLiga matches, started 18, logged 1,453 minutes and scored five goals.

Giuliano Simeone could be the first beneficiary. Renewed until 2030 and trusted by the club, he would gain room on that side, though with greater responsibility.

Marcos Llorente would also be drawn in. Using him higher to cover the wing leaves gaps behind, so Nahuel Molina and Marc Pubill would carry more at right back.

Álex Baena, Thiago Almada, Ademola Lookman and Giuliano add quality, but none matches Nico’s mix of width, goals and pressing. If Atlético complete the buy before 30 June, they keep a ready-made piece. If Juventus move first, they must find a similar profile, a rare task in one window.
