Juventus sporting director Marco Ottolini is monitoring Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte as part of plans to reshape the Bianconeri midfield.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ottolini will attend Algeria v Uruguay on Tuesday evening at the Stadium in Turin, taking notes for a potential overhaul agreed with Spalletti.
Ugarte, a Uruguay international born in 2001, is under contract with Manchester United until June 2029 on a net salary of €4 million per year.
He joined United in summer 2024 for €50 million from PSG, who had paid €10 million more the previous year to sign him from Sporting Lisbon. He has made 68 appearances, with two goals, six assists and 16 yellow cards.
Juve have followed him since his spell in Portugal and made several loan attempts in recent years, first from PSG then from Manchester United.
As they wait to see how the Champions League campaign pans out, he could be an option if Teun Koopmeiners leaves, with Galatasaray targeting the Dutchman in Türkiye.
