Kadidiatou Diani has joined London City Lionesses from OL Lyonnes.

She announced her departure on Monday night on social media, and OL Lyonnes confirmed it on Wednesday morning. The club said in a statement that she was leaving.

The move is a paid transfer between the clubs, meaning OL Lyonnes will receive a fee. The sum is €800,000, the highest in the club’s history, surpassing Ellie Carpenter’s switch to Chelsea that brought in €500,000.

London City Lionesses are part of Michele Kang’s portfolio. Lyon thanked Diani for her commitment and professionalism and wished her success in the next stage of her career.

Across three seasons with Lyon, the 31-year-old forward made 94 appearances and scored 43 goals. She contributed to the Lyonnaises’ domestic success.

Diani’s departure could be offset by Chelsea’s Swedish right winger Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, who has signed for the Lyonnes, although a shift to right-back had also been considered. Vicky Becho is another option, as is Jule Brand.
