Kaio César and Memphis star as Corinthians draw 1-1 at Santos | OneFootball

Corinthians drew 1-1 with Santos at Vila Belmiro, with Kaio César and Memphis the standout performers in the derby.

According to Globo.com, Corinthians had the better of the game and the draw owed to an individual error by Gabriel Paulista. In the first half he attempted a risky pass, Neymar pounced and Gabigol ran clear to beat Hugo Souza.

Memphis levelled with a sharp solo finish after a precise pass from Kaio César, who was making his first start up front. The youngster also went close on his left foot, denied by Gabriel Brazão.

Hugo Souza was largely secure and not to blame for the opener. Matheuzinho shackled Neymar and supported attacks with assured passing. Gustavo Henrique struggled with pace but read the game well and used the ball cleanly.

Raniele did the dirty work in midfield, closing spaces and covering the full-backs. André worked tirelessly but technical errors crept in. Carrillo brought quality to build-up play yet faded physically.

From the bench, Kayke stretched play on the left and linked triangles, while Garro added invention through the middle. Allan rushed decisions. Pedro Raul arrived too late to be graded.
