Kaio César lands in São Paulo to sign for Corinthians

Late Monday afternoon (26), the new Corinthians forward, Kaio César, who was at Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, arrived in Brazil where he was greeted by a small group of Timão fans passing through Guarulhos airport. Originally a winger, the player joins the Alvinegro to fill a gap in the current squad mentioned by coach Dorival Júnior in recent interviews: a fast player on the flanks.

The athlete joins Corinthians on a one-season loan, with a payment of 500 thousand dollars (about R$ 3.1 million) for the loan, as initially reported by ge and confirmed by Central do Timão. Additionally, the agreement also includes an option to purchase 50% of the player's economic rights for 6 million euros (approximately R$ 36.7 million), should Corinthians decide to keep him for the upcoming seasons.

Kaio César was developed in the youth ranks of Coritiba and had his first professional season in 2023, where he scored three goals in 36 games. He was later loaned to Vitória de Guimarães in Portugal, scoring four goals and providing eight assists in 47 games. With standout performance, he was eventually sold to Al-Hilal in 2024. For the Saudi club, he scored four goals and made six assists in 37 matches. His contract with the club ends in December 2028.

In the current 2025/2026 season, however, he lost his place and started only six of 17 matches, scoring one goal and providing three assists. Last weekend, right after Al-Hilal's match against Al-Riyadh in the national championship, the player left the stadium and went directly to the airport to board a flight to Brazil, where he arrived around 4:55 PM (Brasília time).
