Karen Vidal not joining Benfica after talks break down | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica have ended their pursuit of 22-year-old Atlético Nacional centre-back Karen Vidal, who will not be joining for 2026/27.

The Atlético Nacional defender was on the club’s shortlist for the new season, but talks failed to produce an agreement and the move was dropped.

Benfica’s hierarchy viewed Vidal as an interesting option to strengthen the defence and held exploratory contacts.

Negotiations did not progress, the process was closed and attention has shifted to other identified targets that fit the squad’s needs.

Vidal had caught the eye after a consistent campaign in South America, but she is no longer under consideration. Benfica remain active in the market for defensive options.
