Karim Adeyemi rejects two Premier League approaches in favour of Barcelona move | OneFootball

In the last 24 hours, Barcelona have moved into a good position to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi. Personal terms have already been agreed with the Germany international, and the hope is that a club-to-club deal can be finalised in the coming days.

As soon as Adeyemi became aware that he was wanted by Barcelona, he made it very clear that he only wanted to end up in Catalonia. He’s already informed Dortmund that he will not sign a new contract – which is a problem for the Bundesliga giants given that his current deal ends next summer – and other interested clubs were also made aware.

As per Nicolo Schira, two of the clubs keen on Adeyemi are from the Premier League, although the 24-year-old has already made it clear that he does not want to join. He will only leave Dortmund for Barcelona, much to the delight of those within Can Barca, who know that they will not have to compete for his signature.

Barcelona can lower liquid cost of Adeyemi operation

Barcelona have already had an opening offer of €20m turned down by Dortmund, who value Adeyemi closer to €40m. However, they are aware that demanding this amount is unrealistic, given that he only has a year remaining on his contract, so the likelihood is that a figure close to €30m ends up being agreed upon.

There is a chance that Barcelona end up paying much lower than this, as they will be given the opportunity to include certain players in the operation. Dortmund would reportedly welcome including Hector Fort, Marc Casado and/or Roony Bardghji in any deal, as they are three players that the German giants are big fans of.

Barcelona should be able to wrap up a deal for Adeyemi by the end of the week, and if they do, he should be able to join up with his new teammates for the start of pre-season training on Monday.
