After having completed the signing of Anthony Gordon even before the 2026 summer transfer window started, FC Barcelona are now close to completing another signing to strengthen their attack going into the 2026-27 season. This second addition to the first team is going to be the German forward Karim Adeyemi.
It has been some days since the Catalans reached an agreement with both the player and his club, Borussia Dortmund, for his signing. The Barcelona president Joan Laporta also confirmed his signing, but this operation is yet to be completed.
To overcome the final remaining stages of this operation, Mundo Deportivo reports that Adeyemi is going to travel to Barcelona today, on Wednesday. He is expected to land at the Catalan capital at 4:00 PM, and his medical with the Blaugrana club is scheduled for Thursday.
If the medical test, which is one of the final but key parts of any transfer, goes smoothly, the final drafting of the contracts would take place. After that, the final approval and signature will be done, and the German could be announced as a new Barcelona player as soon as Thursday.
However, he will not be able to train under Hansi Flick on Thursday, as his medical test is scheduled at the same time when Hansi Flick will be overseeing the day’s training session. Thus, the earliest he can train under his compatriot would be on Friday, when the Blaugrana coach has scheduled a double training session.
For now, the date for his official presentation has not yet been announced and will be finalized keeping in view the availability of the president Joan Laporta, who is currently in the United States.
Meanwhile, Barcelona fans will be hoping that these final stages of the operation are concluded smoothly, and Karim Adeyemi will don the Blaugrana jersey before the end of this week.
