Two youngsters are returning step by step at FC Bayern – coach Vincent Kompany has now revealed the current situation

The focus at FC Bayern ahead of the Bundesliga match against Heidenheim is not only on the next task, but also on the personnel situation, with particular attention being paid to Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof, who have been out recently with torn muscle fibres

With both youngsters having recently completed parts of team training, coach Vincent Kompany has now provided a concrete update. The Belgian was cautiously optimistic at the press conference – at least in the case of Bischof: „I hope that Tom Bischof will be in the squad tomorrow. Lennart Karl is not yet. But there is still a chance for Paris. I am cautious about his situation.“

Kompany continued: „He’ll do everything he can to make sure he’s involved against PSG.“

This suggests that Bischof could be an option for the matchday squad again in the short term. The 20-year-old has been working hard on his comeback recently and has made great progress. After his strong debut season, his return would be an important boost for the end of the season

Bayern focus on careful development with Karl

However, those responsible are taking a more cautious approach with Karl. The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the biggest attacking talents in the squad, but should be built up without risk following his thigh injury. It is therefore too early for him to play in the Bundesliga match against Heidenheim. However, there is hope for the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain

Nevertheless, the return of Bischof and Karl comes at the right time. Bayern have recently been struggling with personnel bottlenecks, particularly in attack. Additional options could be decisive in the fight for further titles.
