Karlsruhe star omitted from Tunisia’s World Cup squad after bizarre call from his father | OneFootball

Tunisia’s head coach Sabri Lamouchi omitted Karlsruhe’s up-and-coming youngster Louey Ben Farhat from the World Cup squad after his father’s intervention. Several Bundesliga clubs are interested in the 19-year-old attacker, but his father called Lamouchi to tell him that it was too early for his son to play in the World Cup.

The former French international revealed that Louey didn’t answer his call after that when he tried to clarify the confusion. Accordingly, Lamouchi decided to leave out his name from the World Cup squad because of the refusal from the player's father.

The German-born player missed the first half of the season due to injury, but he had an excellent Rückrunde with the 2. Bundesliga outfit. He played his first games for Tunisia in last month’s friendlies against Haiti and Canada.
