Katie McCarn Is a Red | OneFootball

Shelbourne FC is delighted to welcome Katie McCarn back to Tolka Park for the remainder of the 2026 season.

McCarn returns to the Reds after previously progressing through the Shelbourne Academy before graduating to the first team. She departed the club at the end of the 2024 season in search of further first-team opportunities.

In 2025, McCarn made the move to Bohemians, where she continued her development and enjoyed an impressive campaign. She scored a number of important goals and played a key role as Bohs reached their first-ever All-Island Cup and FAI Cup finals.

The first half of the 2026 season saw McCarn join Wexford FC, although her campaign was disrupted by an injury sustained early in the season. Now back at Shelbourne, she returns to strengthen the squad for an exciting second half of the campaign.

Speaking on her return to Tolka Park, McCarn said: “I’m so excited to be back at Shels and to be part of such a talented squad. The girls and staff have all been so welcoming, and I’m really looking forward to getting to work and doing everything I can to help the team finish the season strong.”

Shelbourne FC Head Coach Sean Russell said: “We’re delighted to have Katie back at Shels. She’s a really exciting young player who has shown she’s capable of producing big moments at this level. She brings real quality in the final third and we’re looking forward to seeing her make an impact over the remainder of the season.”

Shelbourne FC Technical Director Luke Byrne added: “Katie is someone we know extremely well from her time in our academy. She went to Bohs and had a really good season, impressing everyone around the league. This year has been stop start because of injury, but we know the quality she possesses. She gives us another strong attacking option as we push for two more trophies between now and the end of the season.”
