FC Bayern hasn’t quite finished putting together its roster yet. Despite two expensive signings, the record champion continues to scout the market—and according to reports, two very specific positions are on Max Eberl’s list.

The Munich club has invested around 100 million euros in its two new signings so far. But it seems the work isn’t done yet at Säbener Straße: As reported by *kicker*, FC Bayern is keeping its eyes open and actively scouting for talent.

Two areas of need are emerging. The club is looking for a left winger and a central midfielder. “These two positions, according to the front office, will remain a focus for those in charge for the remainder of the transfer window,” the report states.

The focus on central midfield is particularly noteworthy. With Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Tom Bischof, the club is actually “generally very satisfied” with that area. Nevertheless, there is a perceived need—in line with this, reports of a 32-million offer for Gabriel Bontempo of FC Santos have recently been circulating. Spanish star Fabian Ruiz is also considered a candidate.

Kompany has a significant say in the matter

Munich is also continuing to look for a left winger, although Arijon Ibrahimovic could be planned as a backup for Luis Diaz following his contract extension. New signing Ismael Saibari could also play there, but he feels more comfortable in the attacking midfield.

All of these moves are being discussed by the new transfer committee. Coach Vincent Kompany’s opinion is said to carry unusually great weight in these discussions. As a result, many transfers are made at his express request.

At the same time, attention is turning to potential sales—an area where Eberl still has to prove himself. Joao Palhinha is currently the most pressing issue here. The Portuguese midfielder is said to have attracted interest from Benfica Lisbon and Aston Villa.
