Liverpool are moving quickly in the transfer market and have agreed a deal to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen. The Reds are also working on the transfer of Frimpong’s club teammate, Florian Wirtz, who could move to Merseyside in a British transfer record deal.

Liverpool ‘favourites’ to sign Kerkez with talks progressing well

Kerkez is the next player in the club’s sights and Fabrizio Romano has revealed a deal could be imminent. Liverpool are the frontrunners to sign the 21-year-old, who is valued at around £40m by Bournemouth.

Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, was behind Bournemouth’s purchase of Kerkez from AZ Alkmaar during his time at the south coast. Hughes moved to his role at Liverpool last summer.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue and talks between the clubs are progressing well. Kerkez has caught the eye of Liverpool after an impressive campaign for the Cherries, in which he has scored twice and provided five assists in 37 league appearances.

The Hungarian could link up with international teammate Dominik Szoboszlai at Anfield next season.
