River, now confirmed for the Copa Sudamericana after Boca’s exit to Racing in the Torneo Clausura, have shelved moves for Kevin Amaro, Román Vega and Luciano Gondou because of valuations, according to Radiogol.com.
Marcelo Gallardo has drawn up a 2026 shortlist and some talks have begun, but these three have been ruled out.
Liverpool valued the 21-year-old right-back at 10 million dollars for 70 percent. With positions far apart, River ended discussions.
There have been no new enquiries for that role, though a reinforcement is expected as Fabricio Bustos could leave.
On the left, River also discarded Román Vega, who was close in winter from Argentinos Juniors before Zenit paid nine million euros for 90 percent. He has since played seven league matches and seven in the Russian Cup.
He has spoken of a return to Argentina, but Zenit will not sell for less than they paid and are not open to a loan. River are now assessing alternatives, with Argentina Under-20 captain Julio Soler leading despite limited minutes at Bournemouth.
Up front, with Miguel Ángel Borja out of contract on 31 December and Facundo Colidio possibly departing, a centre-forward will be sought. Luciano Gondou joined Zenit for 12 million euros mid last year and is not an automatic starter, yet his club want around 14 million and will not loan.
