Galatasaray have reportedly held one-on-one talks with Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne over a potential move to Turkey in the summer, according to reports.

The Belgium international is approaching the end of his current City deal in the summer and there is yet to be a definitive verdict on what the future holds for the attacking midfielder at the Etihad Stadium.

The Manchester City legend, who turns 34 in the summer, has endured another frustrating, injury-riddled campaign and has struggled for form so far this season, as was evident in his recent lacklustre showings against Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola has sympathised with De Bruyne’s struggles and it is understood that much of De Bruyne’s frustrations have been borne from him playing through injury in City’s treble run-in in their historic 2022-23 season.

The only pre-Guardiola signing left in the current squad, De Bruyne, is not short of suitors and has long been linked with a lucrative swoop to the MLS – preferring the United States to Saudi Arabia as a possible destination for when he calls time on an incredible stint in Manchester.

Manager Pep Guardiola was recently asked for an update on Kevin De Bruyne’s future and the Catalan coach retained his stance on the Belgian’s future being a matter to be resolved between club and player.

Whilst it is now understood that Kevin De Bruyne would be happy to accept a bit-part role at Manchester City next term, the club may decide to move their star midfielder on owing to his wages and injury record.

As per Turkish outlet Ajansspor, whose information has been translated and relayed by Sport Witness, De Bruyne has held one-on-one talks with Turkish side Galatasaray as he enters the final months of his current Manchester City contract.

Kevin De Bruyne is understood to have expressed an interest in the idea of the move though it remains to be seen if Manchester City could change their stance on the 33-year-old and offer him a short deal if the player could prove his fitness and finish the season on a high.

Manchester City are currently looking to finish in the UEFA Champions League places to secure their place in next season’s league phase format after crashing out in this season’s last-16 play-offs.

The Premier League champions succumbed to a 6-3 aggregate defeat at the hands of Real Madrid, with Liverpool destined to claim the Premier League title from the historic four-in-a-row winners.
