Huddersfield Town owner Kevin Nagle has issued an angry response to a fan on social media amid criticism over the appointment of Martin Drury.
Huddersfield Town have appointed Martin Drury as their new head coach, but it is fair to say that the decision has not gone down well with some sections of the fanbase.
Huddersfield began last season as one of the promotion favourites in League One, but they parted company with manager Lee Grant in January after an inconsistent first half of the campaign, despite sitting sixth in the table at the time.
Liam Manning was appointed as Grant's replacement, but after 13 games in charge, he stepped back from his role when he was granted compassionate leave, with Drury taking over on an interim basis until the end of the season alongside Jon Stead.
Drury and Stead won two of their seven games in caretaker charge, drawing four and losing one, but it was not enough to guide their side into the play-offs, with the Terriers eventually finishing the season in ninth place, eight points adrift of the top six.
After it was confirmed that Manning would not be returning to the Accu Stadium, Drury was handed the job on a permanent basis last week, with Stead being named as his assistant, but the appointment of the 40-year-old has been criticised by some Town supporters.

Huddersfield owner Kevin Nagle has never been afraid of sharing his opinions on social media, but the American businessman has been particularly vocal in recent weeks.
After a 4-1 home defeat to Mansfield Town in April, Nagle took to X to describe the Terriers' season as "incredibly disappointing", and he promised that he and his team would "work day and night" over the summer to deliver a better outcome in the upcoming campaign.
In the weeks after Manning's departure, Nagle frequently teased Town supporters about the next appointment, and in response to one supporter who suggested that the club could not attract high-quality candidates, he replied: "What makes you think we can’t attract decent managers?"
With that in mind, many Huddersfield fans were underwhelmed when Drury was confirmed as the club's new head coach last week after a managerial search lasting over two weeks, and much of the frustration has been directed towards Nagle.
That has led to plenty of further fiery exchanges between Nagle and supporters, and the Terriers chief hit out at one fan on Sunday who described him as "very silly" and "out of touch", claiming that he "loves the drama of slating Town fans" for having "different opinions" to him.
"You are patently wrong. I don’t care if people are critical. I have said that repeatedly. We have not gotten some things right. But there is no place for repeated attacks that are usually personal (name calling as you have done repeatedly on your little podcast) and vitriolic and never seeing any good. They only see bad. I won’t be a potted plant," Nagle wrote on X.

Drury is the seventh permanent manager to take charge of Huddersfield in less than three years under Nagle's ownership, and many Terriers supporters are unconvinced by his appointment.
There is no doubt that Town's performances improved under Drury towards the end of last season, but he still only managed to pick up two victories from his seven games in charge, and his side conceded four stoppage-time goals in those matches, which proved incredibly costly in their pursuit of a play-off place.
As Huddersfield prepare for their third consecutive season in League One, they are under huge pressure to mount a serious promotion challenge this time around, but if that fails to materialise, the growing discontent towards Nagle will only get louder.
