West Brom have offered Josh Maja a new contract and remain in dialogue over Karlan Grant’s future. Former Albion top scorer Kevin Phillips has given his view on the pair.
“Karlan Grant has been there a while. We all know he can score goals, at times just a little bit inconsistent.” Phillips told BestBettingSites.
“Is he a left winger? Is he a centre forward down the middle? But he's a player that you can rely on.”
It is a summer of change in attack, with captain Jed Wallace and striker Daryl Dike released at the end of their deals.
Grant, 28, has largely operated from the left. The £15million signing from Huddersfield in 2020 has 35 goals in 173 Albion appearances.
Maja, 27, missed the second half of last season through injury and struggled for form, but rallied late under James Morrison to score three important goals that helped secure survival.
“I think Josh Maja would be the one I'd be trying to keep because he scored goals for James at a time when they needed him.”
