Arne Slot has confirmed that Alisson Becker and Alexander Isak will miss Liverpool’s clash with Aston Villa this weekend.
Liverpool host Aston Villa at Anfield tomorrow evening, aiming to address the club’s torrid run of form. The Reds have lost six of their last seven games in all competitions, a run of form that has seen the champions drop to seventh in the Premier League table.
Next up are an in-form Aston Villa team, who have won four consecutive games in the Premier League.
Liverpool will again be without Alisson Becker, who is yet to recover from a hamstring issue. Record recruit Alexander Isak is also absent as the forward deals with a persistent groin problem.
However, there was better news on Ryan Gravenberch. The Dutch international has returned to training and is in contention.
“Ryan [Gravenberch] trained with us yesterday. The other two [Alexander Isak and Alisson] didn’t yet,” Slot said at his pre-match press conference.
“In the end phase of the injury, things can slow down a bit or things can go faster but Ryan trained with us yesterday and he will train with us today and then we will make the call whether he is able to start.
“The other two are 99.9% sure not in the squad on Saturday.”
