Kiana Palacios leaves América Femenil for Utah Royals | OneFootball

Kiana Palacios has left América Femenil to sign for NWSL side Utah Royals, ending five years with the club. The exit arrived just as América Femenil appeared to have concluded their transfer business.

Palacios departs as América Femenil’s record scorer with 91 goals, ahead of Daniela Espinosa on 86, with Katty Martínez and Casandra Cuevas on 53. The club posted a farewell message thanking her for her goals and trophies and saying her mark at the club is permanent.

She joined from Real Sociedad in Spain as a headline arrival and helped win a Liga MX Femenil title.

Her final year at América was not her best, drawing criticism from supporters. The forward struggled to impose herself consistently in the latter stages of competitions.

Even so, she leaves regarded as a club legend, and there is hope she might one day return to say goodbye in América colours.
