Kieran Trippier is among several players leaving Newcastle this summer ahead of next season.

The club said in a statement that Kieran Trippier and Emil Krafth will depart when their contracts expire and will not be renewed.

In goal, Aaron Ramsdale will return to Southampton after a loan spell. The former England international made 23 appearances in all competitions and did not dislodge Nick Pope as number one.

Matt Targett, who spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, will also leave. Goalkeepers John Ruddy and Max Thompson will leave the club. They have been part of the group in recent years, and Thompson gained experience through several loans.

Mark Gillespie has signed a one-year extension and will continue with the Magpies. The 34-year-old will remain in the squad. Fabian Schär has also extended his deal by one year.
