Wolves players react to Santiago Bueno's departure.

Kieran Tripper and Raul Jimenez were among the current Wolverhampton Wanderers stars who reacted to teammate Santiago Bueno making a temporary switch to Club America in Mexico.

Bueno made 29 Premier League appearances for Wolves last season as they were relegated to the Championship, scoring thrice and chipping in one assist.

It was confirmed on Friday evening that the 27-year-old Uruguayan centre-back had left Molineux to link up with Club America in Liga MX on loan until the end of the season.

Bueno joined Wolves from Spanish club Girona in August 2023, signing a five-year deal. He went on to make 70 appearances in the Premier League across his three-season spell at the club.

Despite this, the defender failed to feature in any of the club's five opening Championship matches this season, which saw him head to Mexico City to join Liga MX pacesetters Club America on loan, with an option to buy.

Due to the size of Wolves' squad, Bueno wasn't registered by the club for the 2026/27 Championship season, which opened the door to complete his move to the Mexican side.

Bueno had become a popular face at Molineux over his three seasons at the club, and was clearly loved by supporters and teammates alike, as plenty were quick to wish him well ahead of the next chapter in his career.

One of those quick to share support was Jimenez via Instagram, as he took to his story to say what translated to: "Best of luck in this new chapter, brother; I know you'll do great with Mexico's biggest team."

Jimenez, of course, is no stranger to Club America, having risen through the ranks of their academy before making 96 appearances for their first team before earning a move to Atlético Madrid in 2014.

Trippier also sent his well-wishes to Bueno, as he liked Wolves' post confirming the Uruguayan's departure on Instagram.

Teammates Yerson Mosquera, Fer Lopez, and Enso Gonzalez also added to their Instagram stories to send their best wishes to Bueno on his next chapter.

Mosquera's story read: "Brother, I wish you great success, and may God bless you," with Gonzalez saying: "I wish you all the best on your new path, brother. Love you, man," and Lopez said: "My friend, best of luck in this new chapter. You're a top-notch person."

One fan described Bueno as the second-best defender at the club, and was left confused at the decision to let him leave.

Another suggested that there might be more than meets the eye in the decision to let him leave.

Another wished Bueno well, but echoed the sentiment on the confusion as to why he wasn't playing for Wolves.

Another was frustrated that Bueno had been allowed to leave the club, whilst fellow centre-backs Toti Gomes and Mosquera remained.
