Köln reject fresh Dortmund bid for El Mala – BVB to return with improved offer? | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly seen a fresh offer for Said El Mala rejected by 1. FC Köln.

Both Bild and Sky Germany report that the Black and Yellows’ bid, worth €45 million including bonuses, was swiftly turned down by the Billy Goats.

The rejection has led Köln to put negotiations on hold for the time being, but that doesn't mean the transfer saga has been brought to an end.

Dortmund are expected to return with an improved offer for the 19-year-old, but they will likely need to bid well above €50 million to convince Köln to sell. 

El Mala is already believed to have agreed personal terms with Dortmund over a potential summer move, but the Billy Goats are fully planning for the new season with El Mala as part of their squad.
