Köln ‘to loan’ Fynn Schenten to Roda JC | OneFootball

Roda JC are poised to beat several clubs to the loan of 1. FC Köln striker Fynn Schenten. According to De Nieuwe Star, technical director Rob Servais confirmed the transfer on Saturday, although neither club has announced it yet.

The Dutch second-tier side even flashed a welcome message to Schenten on the stadium scoreboard before a pre-season friendly earlier on Saturday.

Roda JC are not expected to have an option to buy, with Schenten regarded highly at Köln. Interest from across Europe had built for next season, and his imminent move to Roda JC has surprised observers.

Schenten made seven Bundesliga appearances last season, including a home match against FC Bayern. He signed his first professional contract until 2030 at the start of the year.

He finished as top scorer in the youth DFB-Pokal with six goals. He also netted in all five of Köln’s UEFA Youth League matches, including the tie when the club’s fans set the competition attendance record against Inter.
