Barcelona not only claimed top spot in La Liga on Sunday but also matched historic club record dating back more than 80 year.
Real Sociedad stunned the Catalans by taking early lead at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys. But Jules Kounde’s powerful header made it 1 - 1 .. a goal that also equaled Barcelona’s longest ever scoring run (finding the net in 44 straight matches across all competitions).
Veteran striker Robert Lewandowski sealed the 2 - 1 comeback with superb header from teenager Lamine Yamal’s cross.
The Polish star’s goal was his most decisive of the season sending Barca past rivals Real Madrid to the top of La Liga.
Barcelona last scored in 44 consecutive game between November 1942 & February 1944 when they hit 139 goal.
Under Hansi Flick, the team have now netted 126 across their current streak.
