Krépin Diatta will not extend his stay at Monaco and, barring a highly unlikely reversal, will be a free agent on 1 July when his deal ends on 30 June. According to L'Équipe, the Senegal international, 27, is not being offered a new contract.
He is the only first-team player at the club reaching the end of his deal this summer, excluding loanees. The decision draws a five-season spell towards its close.
Diatta arrived from Club Bruges in summer 2021 and initially played a key part, notably under Philippe Clement. His Monaco career has been uneven, and he shifted to right wing-back to secure minutes, a role he also fills for Senegal.
This season he has largely been a back-up. He has made 18 Ligue 1 appearances, with 10 starts, and was left off the Champions League list at the start before a temporary return following Denis Zakaria’s injury.
He has started only three times in all competitions in 2026. His most recent start came on 19 April against Auxerre, a 2-2 draw, and he was left out of Sébastien Pocognoli’s squad the following week at Toulouse, also 2-2.
