The Dane completed parts of Tuesday’s session as Eintracht began preparations for the weekend’s trip to Augsburg.

After recovering from a foot injury, Rasmus Kristensen returned to the Deutsche Bank Park pitches on Tuesday and completed parts of the day’s training session. To welcome him back, players and staff formed a guard of honour at the end of the first drinks break, and cheered him loudly as he ran through.

Absent quintet

Five senior players were not involved on Tuesday though. Farès Chaibi and Elias Baum were absent due to illness, while Nnamdi Collins, Kaua Santos and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya continued their recoveries from injury.

The session began with some rondos under the watchful eye of Albert Riera. The head coach subsequently donned a bib and joined his players in an 11-a-side game focusing on passing, anticipation and defending, all while moving the ball as quickly as possible. The words “one touch” could be heard frequently.

Attacks and ball recovery

Eventually the pitch was increased to three-quarter size and the goalkeepers were involved, at which point Riera returned to his position on the sidelines. This next stage of the session focused on attacking patterns and intensive commitment to ball recovery when possession was lost.

The Eagles are keen to show a positive reaction following the weekend’s defeat against Leipzig when they take on Augsburg in their Bundesliga Matchday 31 fixture at the WWK ARENA on Saturday (kick-off 15:30 CEST). The team will have daily training sessions until then.
