Take Kubo is pushing to play again for Real Sociedad after his mid-January injury, with minutes against Alavés on Saturday at 14:00 in Anoeta under consideration. The expectation is a second-half introduction, though a place in the starting XI has not been ruled out.
He has stacked up sessions with team-mates at Zubieta and his hunger has been clear. He was back in the squad for Levante last Saturday, but the staff chose not to risk him.
Pellegrino Matarazzo explained he was unsure about the game’s intensity and, after consulting the doctors, judged it better to wait a few more days so Kubo could be better prepared for Alavés.
After completing this week’s training, the attacker appears ready to hit the cup date in strong shape.
Ahead lie eight league games and the cup final in Seville, a platform to show his best level. He is also targeting this summer’s World Cup with Japan and wants the right match rhythm.
His return could help unlock tight games just as Real Sociedad chase European aims over the next month and a half.
