Paris Saint-Germain’s recent European nights have borne Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s stamp, and he will be central again when they face Arsenal in Budapest on Saturday at 18:00 in the Champions League final.
According to Le Progres, the Georgian has been decisive in high pressure matches, with seven goals and three assists since the play-offs. His composure has driven Luis Enrique’s side into the final.
He has repeatedly unlocked games with a trademark dribble that recalls Arjen Robben, standing up his marker, cutting inside onto his stronger right, then finding the far corner. He then beat Manuel Neuer that way in the 5-4 semi-final first leg.
Signed from Napoli in January 2025 and once nicknamed Kvaradona, he looks at his strongest this season, even if he appears to pick his moments, with eight Ligue 1 goals and 10 in Europe despite 400 fewer minutes. His graft without the ball stands out too, whether pressing or helping his defence.
Under Luis Enrique he has sharpened the defensive side of his game, with sessions devoted to collective organisation, defensive detail and finishing. Among PSG attackers in this Champions League he leads ball recoveries with 25 in 15 matches.
Injuries have barely interrupted him, only a minor muscle issue in October and an ankle problem in early February, three matches in total. Supporters now look to Saturday for another statement display as PSG chase a Champions League double.
